Doing so allowed the "DNS DRAC Name" to be editable. I was then able to change it, and then uncheck the "Register DRAC on DNS" box (I didn't want it registered in DNS (manual entry had already been created). After hitting apply, the settings stuck. This works, at least, with the latest firmware that is currently available on an Enterprise controller, firmware "Dell iDRAC Monolithic Release 2.90. You can update this to this firmware without rebooting.

This might also help others: I needed to set the domain name because my internal anonymous mailer using IIS SMTP kept rejecting it with "501 5.1.7 invalid address" due to the sender being iDRAC@, but like all of you, I did not want to reboot the server to set it. I will also tell you how to set the hostname below.

You go into the iDRAC, and click on "iDRAC Settings">"Network/Security">"Common Settings". You can then check "Register DRAC on DNS", and enter the "DNS DRAC Name". You can also then enter in a domain name. Do not forget to hit "Apply" at the bottom right.Kevin Cotreauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12771607265951416368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8807071836965250038.post-62492224960872721932018-03-02T15:36:28.303+05:302018-03-02T15:36:28.303+05:30Thanks a lot, it solved my Problem with SQL 2017Thanks a lot, it solved my Problem with SQL 2017Bodo Kunradnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8807071836965250038.post-2597285522897859372018-02-24T11:27:55.261+05:302018-02-24T11:27:55.261+05:30Right click and select Deconfigure failover to rem...Right click and select Deconfigure failover to remove just one scope from failover relationshio. The hostname referenced in snapmirror.conf must match the actual hostname. If it does not (as in our case where the hostname is uppercase and in snapmirror.conf its lowercase), then SRA will have a problem discovering the array device.

2. Ensure that snapmirror relationships are not in a transferring state. If there are, transfers need to complete to confirm that SRA is able to pair the devices

3. Remove unneeded export statements for RO snapmirror destinations. Having these export statements may cause issues when attempting a Recovery operation in that the destination hosts may not be able to mount the volume due to the existing export statements. It's best to remove these and to allow SRA to create them during the Recovery operation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8807071836965250038.post-82959567306489015432015-12-28T15:36:46.332+05:302015-12-28T15:36:46.332+05:30If you know better way please do share it.
